Basic Chassis and Drive Line Lubrication Reference Chart

1 Drag Link, and Power Steering Cylinder Lubricate four grease fittings; one on each end of the drag link, and one on each end of the power steering cylinder. A
2 Front Suspension Each spring pin has one grease fitting; lubricate three both front?axle ends. A
3 Steering Gear Output Shaft (Ross TAAS) Lubricate grease fitting at the output shaft. A
4 Manual Steering Gear Check lubricant level in the steering gear (46?02) and add lubricant if low. Change lubricant as required (46?03). B
5 Steering Gear Bearing Cap (Sheppard) Lubricate one grease fitting on the bearing cap. A
6 Steering Driveline Lubricate three grease fittings; one at each of two universal joints, and one at the slip joint. A
7 Power Steering Gear Check fluid level in reservoir (46-05), and add fluid if low. Change fluid and filter as required (46-06). B
8 Rear Axle At each rear axle, check oil level (35-01), and add oil if low. Change oil and filter as required (35-02). A
9 Slack Adjuster Lubricate one grease fitting for each stack adjuster at both ends of each front and rear axle. A
10 Rear Suspension, Hendrickson† Lubricate both sides of vehicle; one grease fitting for each equalizer bronze center bushing; one grease fitting for each spring eye pin (RT/RTE Series) A
11 Tie Rod Lubricate two grease fittings; one at each tie rod end. A
12 Knuckle Pin Lubricate four grease fittings; one on top and one on bottom of knuckle pin at both front-axle ends. A
13 Clutch Release Bearing Lubricate one grease fitting on the bottom. A
14 Clutch Release Cross-Shaft Lubricate two grease fittings; one at each end of the release cross-shaft. C
15 Transmission Check oil level (26-08), and add oil if low. Change oil as required (26-05 and 26-06). A
16 Clutch Linkage Lubricate two grease fittings; one at each clutch rod end. A
17 Rear Suspension Equalizer(Freightliner Suspension) Lubricate both sides of vehicle; one grease fitting for each equalizer. A
18 Door Seal, Door Latch, andDoor Hinge Lubricate all door seals, door latches, and door hinges on the cab. A
19 Fifth Wheel† Inspect the fifth wheel, then lubricate the top plate and all moving parts. A
20 Driveline Lubricate each U-joint grease fitting and each slip joint grease fitting. A
